Gorgeous Greek Villa Elopement – B’LOVED Blog

The history: Nick and Jess originally booked an Elopement in Lefkada, Greece in May but had to reschedule due to Covid travel restrictions. They rebooked but their flights were canceled twice more, leaving them feeling like their dream of an intimate family break would never come true. But it did and the team at Lefkas Weddings were on hand to ensure this beautiful family had the perfect intimate wedding reception.

The site: Villa Orizontas in Lefkada, Greece. Located above the beach of Kathisma, this modern, light-flooded villa made of local island stone offers an almost 360-degree panoramic view of the Ionian Sea. The villa is surrounded by plants and herbs which create an amazing aroma around the property in the summer months.

The atmosphere: Getting ready was a family affair with Nick taking care of Lola while older sister Molly was a real bridesmaid helping her mom with her dress. When Nick and Jess requested a morning ceremony, the team organized a delicious wedding brunch with local delicacies, including delicious local pastries and breads, small pots of Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, lefakda honey and melopita (honey cake). After brunch, they spent the rest of the day with the girls in the secluded privacy of the villa.

The details: The decoration of the ceremony and Jess’ bouquet uses olives and gypsophila to blend in with the surroundings. Our bride opted for bridal items with a soft, puffy skirt and a delicate lace top (see The 20 hottest newlyweds from B’LOVED). The bride and bridesmaids’ hair ties and corsages were handcrafted by a friend of the bride for a personal touch.

  • Nick and Jess wanted to include their daughter’s in their wedding ceremony. They organized a sand ritual in which sand and shells that the family had collected before the wedding were poured into a souvenir bottle.
  • Jess wanted her wedding cake to have a hat for Greece, the place they were going to get married. The traditional one Ravani, orange semolina cake, was recreated as a light and tasty modern cake in the bare style.
  • The big day can go by so quickly. Remember to take the time to pause and enjoy the moment. Jess and NIck did just that and sat down with a glass of bubbles to celebrate their long-awaited union.
