Another iconic department store is added to our list of favorite venues as you can now get married in Selfridges.
A few years ago we brought you the exciting news that couples could tie the knot at London’s famous Fortnum & Mason department store. This was certainly welcome news for luxury lovers looking to secure a unique wedding venue in the heart of London. Well, you can tell us the wedding present that we keep giving as we heard through the grapevine. Selfridges, another iconic department store in the capital, will be hosting weddings this summer.
Couples looking for a chic wedding venue in town can look forward to getting married in the Selfridges flagship store on Oxford Street. The London department store has acquired a license to host weddings and will offer a range of “wedding packages”.
Following reports that 220,000 weddings failed to take place in 2020 and another 100,000 were canceled in the first half of 2021, there is a backlog of weddings and bookings to deal with. Some venues cannot handle the rush of future bookings. This has required new venues for other companies, and has led them to obtain special licenses for weddings.
